Delta Tau Data Systems introduces the UMAC (Universal Motion and Automation Controller) in 3U pack configuration. The heart of the UMAC is a 3U-format Turbo PMAC CPU board with software capable of controlling up to 32 axes simultaneously along with thousands of I/O points. Choose from a variety of processor configurations, digital PWM, ±10 V analog and stepper axis interfaces and digital and analog I/O cards. The UMAC consists of a modular PMAC system build with a set of 3U formal Eurocards. This board is completely software compatible with other Turbo-PMAC versions and supports all standard PMAC accessories. The pack configuration packages a wide range of boards that can individually slide in and out of a 3U rack. The UMAC communicates with the CPU board over a common back plane board, the UBUS (Universal Bus), greatly simplifying troubleshooting activities and providing plug and play versatility for a great variety of systems configurations. The 3U Turbo PMAC2 Motion Controller Board accepts a PC 104 compatible piggyback Pentium PC. A PMAC OPC (communications software) allows communications with a variety of PLCs and controllers via a multitude of Fieldbus choices. UMAC Packs can be purchased in 10, 15 or 21 slot configurations.
