| Conventional micro-milling is done with a one of a kind
four axis Dover Instrument Corp. micromachining center designed to
National Jet and Calla, Inc. specifications.
The X-Y stage utilizes air bearings, DC
linear motors and positive positional feedback provided by a Zygo
laser interferometer system. The stage is mounted on a 36" X 48" X
8" natural granite surface plate base.

The Z stage utilizes an air bearing
slide, DC motor, a precision lead screw and positive feedback
provided by a linear encoder. The slide is mounted on two granite
columns attached to the granite base.
