Windward combined their EDM control board and power supply with the Delta Tau PMAC PC motion controller to control all the motion axes and EDM spark control. The PMAC motion board controlled the four axis of motion (X, Y, Z, O) and compensated for the liner bearing and ball screw errors. Robot Project
The robot workcell consists of two robots Puma 560 and IBM 7575, and a conveyer system. The robot workcell is coordinated in the CH language environment under a real-time operating system LynxOS from Lynx Real-Time Systems running in a VMEbus based single board computer MVME167 from Motorola. Observatory Operations to Optimize Scientific Return
Experience in bringing into operation the 91-segment primary mirror alignment and control system, the focal plane tracker system, and other critical subsystems of the HET will be described. Particular attention is given to the tracker, which utilizes three linear and three rotational degrees of freedom to follow sidereal targets. Coarse time-dependent functions for each axis are downloaded to autonomous PMAC controllers that provide the precise motion drives to the two linear stages and the hexapod system. PMAC.

Visual Tracking with Subpixel Resolution using an Analog VLSI Computational Sensor
This paper describes the application of a computational vision sensor to active binocular tracking. The sensor outputs are used to control the vergence angles of the two cameras and the tilt angle of the head so that the center pixels of the sensor arrays image the same point in the environment. One distinguishing feature of the sensor used here is the possibility to resolve target motions with sub-pixel resolution. PMAC VME.
A New Configuration and Beam Position for LADI
